Quote for the Day

“For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous…”

Today's Prayer

This week pray that God will open your eyes to HIS Word. Pray that you will put aside the pleasures of this world and seek God alone, so that you might prosper as the righteous man in Psalm 1. Continue to pray for those who are now leaving family after spending the holidays together. Pray for families without their spouses or parents and longing to see them soon.

Psalm 1:1-6

Psalm 1:1-6 (NIV)1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. 4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. 6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

Message

My favorite Psalm is Psalm 1. I believe it gives us great insight into the actions and activities of life. Psalm 1 describes the actions of a righteous man and the results gained from those actions:Actions:Do not walk with the wickedDo not stand with sinnersDo not sit with mockersDo delight in the Law of the LordDo meditate on God’s Law day and nightResults: Whatever he does prospers!Meditating and delighting in our Savior seems like a great start for the New Year ahead. I look forward to “talking” to all of you each week.
